Human Resources Manager

DENSO International America is seeking a skilledHuman Resource Manager that will lead affiliate human resources in the functional areas of associate relations, benefits, and learning and development. This person manages the planning, operational and personnel activities of the assigned functional areas and provides input to overall affiliate human resources operational strategy.

Job Duties include:

• Assigns and monitors daily work assignments, project plans and development of subordinates. In conjunction with the department's mission and company vision and direction, oversees and is accountable for meeting the HR-related needs of DENSO associates.

• Develops and secures approval of goals, objectives and measures for assigned areas and ensures they comply with overall division and organization strategy. Communicates and is accountable for goal attainment. Develops, along with department senior management, the short term strategies for assigned functional areas. Advises executive management on specific matters and general direction related to associate relations, benefits and learning and development.

• Directly manages the administration of benefit programs for the affiliate associates; including health and welfare, workers compensation, leaves of absence and wellness and retirement programs. Participates and provides input to the North America Benefits team with regard to the overall program, offerings and services to ensure that the organization's objectives are met.

• Manages and assigns projects related to associate relations. Investigates and makes recommendations regarding current industry or functional trends in employee recognition, work-life initiatives, etc. Oversees associate engagement related activities for the campus and for satellite offices. Manages associate disciplinary issues, investigations and separation procedures. Analyzes current processes and workflow and recommends and implements process changes. Makes recommendations pertaining to reporting approach and methods of both pro-active and re-active associate relations activities.

• Analyzes and assesses the learning and development needs of affiliate associates and makes recommendations to North America Education and Development regarding the development of new training programs or updates to current programs. Manages training budget for associate population, oversees grants and determines functional specific training program needs. Coordinates with internal and external resources to develop strong training programs, including instructor led and eLearning. Ensures mandatory training requirements are met and oversees audits related to such activities.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent education and experience
  • At least 8 years of HR experience with at least 3 years in a leadership / management role

  • Advanced knowledge of state and federal employment and labor laws
